Reflecting on Louis Fletcher:

One of the biggest musical talents I have ever known. A great trumpet player who never seemed to need to practice! Truly a natural talent. Also a great arranger and conductor. Produced an opera at West Point by Haydn called "The Songstress" which was quite a treat and a lot of work for both of us as I was responsible for copying the parts and of course playing the 1st trumpet part. A remarkable and somewhat eccentric person but aren't most musicians that way? David Searfoss

I remember "Louie" as our housemother, pinning ceremony arranger, loose cannon, talented trumpeter and amazing brother to look up to.
