Eldon Rosegart - Initiated in 1938

Eldon Charles Rosegart


ROSEGART, ELDON CHARLES; of Waterford; April 29, 2011; at 92 years of age. Husband of the late Phyllis Rosegart, 1988 and the late Dorothy Rosegart, 2004. Beloved father of Richard (Janet) Rosegart, Tammy (Dave) Tallenger and the late Don (Chris), Daryl (Connie) and Dale LaBarge; brother of Joan Graham; dear "PaPa" of 11 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. Mr. Rosegart served in the U.S. Army Adminstrative Corps in England and France during W.W.II. He taught and directed music in Leslie and Pontiac, Michigan before becoming Assistant Superintendent for Oakland Schools. He served 6 terms on the Waterford Board of Education. He served as president of the Southeast Michigan Band and Orchestra Association and was elected to the Michigan Education Hall of Fame in 1990. He was also appointed to the Board of Managers of the Michigan State Fair. He was Drum Major of Pontiac High School and Michigan State College Bands. He was also Drum Major of the M.S.U. Alumni Band for 28 years.

Funeral service Monday, May 2, 2011 at 1 p.m. at COATS FUNERAL HOME, Clarkston (8909 Dixie Hw., Clarkston). Interment follows at Drayton Plains Cemetery, Waterford. Family will receive friends Sunday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
